“My name is Alejandra. I was eight years old when I moved to El Paso, TX from Mexico. I grew up in Central El Paso (go Panthers!) and attended UTEP (go, Miners!). I’ve always had a passion for travel & adventure so last April in 2018 my husband and I sold almost everything we owned and left our home and jobs to travel full-time. I started my travel blog (alebaidoc.com) as a creative outlet and a way to share my experiences traveling and living abroad. So far, I’ve seen 14 countries and a total of 35 cities. One of the most interesting places I’ve visited is Istanbul, Turkey and one of the most beautiful countries I’ve seen is Croatia. When meeting new people during my travels, I’m asked where I’m from and when I say El Paso, TX (I have to say West Texas or on the border with Mexico). So, I almost always get the follow-up question: “Isn’t the border with Mexico dangerous?” Sigh… I love having the opportunity to represent El Paso everywhere I go and talk about all the things that make the Sun City so amazing such as its warm and caring people, the unique culture, the delicious food, the amazing weather and of course, how safe I felt living there. Although I never took anything for granted, being so far from my hometown makes me appreciate El Paso so much more. One day, not sure when just yet, I know I’ll be back in El Paso, TX!” - @alebaidoc
